Here are some of the benefits of a Fortified Roof

IMPACT-RESISTANT SHINGLES

BETTER ATTACHMENT

SEALED ROOF DECK

STRONGER EDGES

01

IMPACT-RESISTANT SHINGLES

These shingles outperform typical Class 4 shingles when tested against hailstones. They are a high quality protection for your home.

02

BETTER ATTACHMENT

FORTIFIED requires ring-shank nails,  Instead of common smooth nails. These nails are installed in an enhanced pattern, to keep the roof deck attached to your home in high winds.

03

SEALED ROOF DECK

FORTIFIED requires roof decks to be sealed to prevent wind rips off. This helps to prevent major water damage.

04

STRONGER EDGES

FORTIFIED requires a wider drip edge and a fully adhered starter strip. These are high quality specific materials installed with precise building methods.

Impact-resistant Shingles RateImd by IBHS*

FORTIFIED requires shingles tested by IBHS. In hail-prone areas they can withstand hail up to 2 inches in diameter. These shingles outperform typical Class 4 shingles. They are tested against realistic hailstones. This will give you peace of mind & better protect your home.

Locked Down Roof Edges

When wind gets underneath the roof edge and begins ripping it away from the home major roof damage often begins  . FORTIFIED requires specific materials and installation methods. This process helps protect this vulnerable area. A wider drip edge and a fully adhered starter strip is applied that when used together create a stronger edge system.

Sealed Roof Deck

IBHS testing shows that for every inch of rain to hit an exposed roof deck, the equivalent of nine bathtubs of water can pour in and cause significant interior damage. If wind rips off your roof covering it exposes the wood beneath and allows water to pass through the gaps and into your home. By sealing the seams of your roof deck, you can drastically reduce the water coming into your home.

Enhanced Roof Deck Attachment

IBHS testing shows that switching from common smooth nails to 8D ring-shank nails and decreasing the space between nails, can double the uplift your roof can withstand. When severe weather strikes it is critical to keep your roof deck attached to your home. This is key to blocking storm pressure and rain from entering your house.
